Gettin' into the swing of things

Today was a good day.

I received an invitation to a second round interview at a human services agency with which I had an initial interview a week and a half ago. Yay!

Then I received word that I would be contacted within a few days in order to schedule a phone interview with a different company. Yay, yay!

I also received a kiss-off letter from another organization with which I had an interview two weeks ago. Prior to receiving the letter, I had followed up with the hiring manager twice by phone, leaving messages, and twice by e-mail, both without any responses whatsoever. Instead, today I received a form letter, signed by the hiring manager. What a coward!

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to work for a person who is so rude and insulting, that she can't be courteous enough to return my calls, nor my e-mails. What did she think . . . that I would blast her over the phone or in an e-mail if I didn't get the job? C'mon Ms. Coward, we're professionals, here. Hiring managers should be a bit more sensitive; one never knows when the shoe will be on the other foot.
