Still job seeking, but . . .
Yup, still job seeking; however, I am broadening my horizons by actually applying for jobs out of state, as well as here in my area. In the meantime, I am taking an awesome graduate level course on Internet Marketing and New Media in an effort to enhance my resume. Sure hope potential employers stand up and take notice!

Gettin' into the swing of things
Today was a good day.
I received an invitation to a second round interview at a human services agency with which I had an initial interview a week and a half ago. Yay!
Then I received word that I would be contacted within a few days in order to schedule a phone interview with a different company. Yay, yay!
I also received a kiss-off letter from another organization with which I had an interview two weeks ago. Prior to receiving the letter, I had followed up with the hiring manager twice by phone, leaving messages, and twice by e-mail, both without any responses whatsoever. Instead, today I received a form letter, signed by the hiring manager. What a coward!
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to work for a person who is so rude and insulting, that she can't be courteous enough to return my calls, nor my e-mails. What did she think . . . that I would blast her over the phone or in an e-mail if I didn't get the job? C'mon Ms. Coward, we're professionals, here. Hiring managers should be a bit more sensitive; one never knows when the shoe will be on the other foot.

An explanation, please . . .
Okay, so I haven't blogged in over a year -- Yikes! My last blog was a recipe, which garnered one comment from "Mike." How apropos, as I am inspired to blog again after having seen the film, Julie and Julia; you know, the movie about a blogger who, within a year, prepared all of the 500+ recipes in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking cookbook. While I'm not inclined to be a copycat, I may occasionally post a recipe. Just for now, though, I will get my blogging feet wet again in the world of blog-g-rama. Happy reading!

YUMMY RECIPE
Okay, so my grad school professor suggested that I post a recipe or two on my blog. Well, here's one - Enjoy!
Chocolate Delight
Crust:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 stick margarine, room temperature
1 stick butter, room temperature
1 cup walnuts, chopped small, but not fine
2 tbsp. sugar
Combine all ingredients (I use a food processor), and pat into a Pam-sprayed 9” x 13” baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Cool completely.
First filling:
2 8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese, room temperature
1 ½ cups confectioners sugar
1 8 or 9 oz. tub Cool Whip
Combine all ingredients (again, I use a food processor). Spread over cooled crust and refrigerate while preparing second filling.
Second filling:
3 pkgs. instant chocolate pudding mix (or flavor of your choice)
3 cups milk
Combine with a hand mixer for about 2 minutes, until well blended. Pour over cream cheese mixture and refrigerate until set.
Top with one 8 or 9 oz. tub Cool Whip. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and refrigerate for several hours (overnight is best).

Marjo's Blog #2
Aaaahhhhh! Here I am in grad school, job searching, running a household, taking care of an elderly parent, maintaining a long-distance relationship . . . and I have to find time to blog, too? My boyfriend blogs every night on CNN.com. He is addicted to blogging there. He is very "politicky." He is not to be disturbed from 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. every night. That's okay; I need my space, too.
I sure hope I am doing this blog thing correctly -- I am challenged when it comes to this sort of thing. My goal is to become a seasoned pro at blogging. Maybe I'll even set up a MySpace account. My daughter would die of embarrassment.

Marjo's Blog
First time blogging -- Yikes! What to say, what to say . . . This is actually a test blog for a grad school course I'm taking called "Internet Marketing and New Media." I'm eletronically and technologically challenged, so this is a huge step for me. Perhaps once I have a go at it for a few times, I'll become more comfortable.
